Our restorative dentistry treatments include:

Tooth-Colored Dental Fillings

In recent years, tooth-colored fillings have improved. Composites are now stronger, more stable, and can be better matched to the natural color of your teeth. This procedure is very popular because of the natural looking appearance of composite fillings.

Root Canal Therapy (Endodontics)

When a cavity has reached the pulp of a tooth and caused an infection, root canal therapy or endodontics is necessary. A root canal may be necessary after severe trauma to a tooth as well. Visiting your dentist regularly can help prevent the need for endodontic therapy, but once the pulp has been infected, it much be treated. This type of infection cannot heal itself, and it must be treated to avoid further problems. If you develop a sensitivity to hot or cold foods and liquids, have a bad taste in your mouth, or pain and swelling, you may have an infected pulp. In some cases, there are no obvious symptoms, and patients are unaware of a problem until they are at a routine visit with their dentist.

During this procedure, the infected pulp is cleaned out and the canals of the tooth are disinfected. The canals are then filled with special material to prevent further infections. This aids in the healing process as well. Sometimes a crown, bridge, or bonded post will be need to be utilized in order to restore function to the infected tooth.

Partial & Complete Dentures

Dentures are specially crafted to fit snugly and comfortably into an individual patient’s mouth. Complete dentures are used when a patient is missing all of their teeth. To restore beauty, function, and health to their smile, removable dentures can be applied. When dentures are in place they:

  • Replace missing teeth
  • Improve the appearance of your smile
  • Restore the ability to eat and speak
  • Prevent facial sagging

Creating and placing dentures only takes a few visits, and all dentures are custom-made, in our in-house lab, to look and feel much like natural teeth. Dentures are made to have an individualized fit, and we will work with you to create dentures that fit comfortably into your mouth. Having good dentures can boost your personal confidence and improve your smile.

Dental Implants

Dental implants replace the root portion of a missing natural tooth. It can be placed in the upper or lower jaw, and helps to maintain natural jaw structure and prevent bone loss. Made out of titanium, a dental implant fuses with the jaw bone to become an anchor for the replacement tooth that goes on top. Titanium has specific bio-compatible properties that make it fuse well with bones. You can receive implants to replace individual or multiple teeth.

There are many implant options available, so when you come in for a consultation, Dr. Ostrowski will discuss the options with you and find the option that best fits your current state of health, bone structure, and restoration preference. For more information, visit our Dental Implants page.
